NAREN Feedback

2014 CONFERENCE FEEDBACK

“Just wanted to make sure to offer my congratulations for the success of the NAREN Conference – what an event!!! The whole conference was so well-planned and appeared to go off without a hitch. Kudos to the planning committee and to the staff of the Children’s Guild for providing such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I left the conference feeling inspired and rejuvenated from the amazing keynote presentations, creative performances, and innovative workshops! I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a great conference. I certainly hope to cross paths with all of you in the future. Thanks again! “- Jean Carpenter-Williams, MS, CYC-P, Director of Training Development, National Resource Center for Youth Services. The University of Oklahoma Outreach

“The conference last week was my first face to face experience with NAREN and it was indeed a memorable one! I am definitely planning to make this an annual attendance.” – Allison Upshaw, Creative Education Consultant/Teaching Artist, Classroom OPERAtunities

“I want to thank you for such a great conferencethis was my first time attending the NAREN Conference and I was very pleased with all the information and sessions that were offered.  It  was great, very informative and I look forward to attending next year. P.S. Mr. Kros the “Brain Path session” was awesome. Thank you very much for all you do!” – Diana M. Alaniz, Dropout Prevention Specialist, McAllen Independent School District

To breakout session presenter, Terry Carlile:

“I was fortunate enough to take part in your presentation of “How to Use Illustrations and Activities to Reach the Head, Heart and Hands of Our Youth” at the NAREN Conference. I work for a agency providing in-home and community based casework and services through a contact with our local Department of Social Services as well as a running a therapeutic foster care program across numerous counties. I was immediately able to bring back several ideas to our team – for use not only with families and youth we serve, but also within our staff – and I haven’t even gotten to the book yet. Your enthusiasm is infectious and I truly appreciate the re-energizing quality of your presentation!” –Rhonda Pollino, Preventive Caseworker, Glove House, Inc.

To NAREN Director, Frank Kros:

“I wanted to take the time to thank you again for all you do for youths, families and organizations! After seeing your presentations in Buffalo, NY with my supervisor, I was able to convince our agency (in-home and community based casework and therapeutic foster care) to send two from our office to the NAREN Conference. Even from our non-education roots, we were warmly welcomed and the entire conference was so relevant and informational! You and your staff put together an amazing experience! And with my co-worker winning your grand prize for next year’s conference, I hope to be able to talk our agency into sending even more of our staff for 2015!” – Rhonda Pollino, Preventive Caseworker, Glove House, Inc.

 NAREN Director, Frank Kros FEEDBACK

“I recently attended the NARENwich conference in Wisconsin Dells where I heard you speak!  I developed writer’s cramp trying to gather all the information you had to offer us.  Thank You for what I’m guessing is just the tip of the iceberg!  I want more!!! Educators, parents, mentors, all adults need this kind of information in their back pockets to pull out and use whenever/wherever they are!  I only wish I had been better versed on much of this “stuff” far earlier in my career as an educator.  On the bright side, though, I think I was so excited about the things you were telling us because it has been a basic belief for me all along.  You just packaged it nicely, supported it with research and now deliver it effectively to all willing to listen. I definitely appreciate what you are doing in education and certainly wish more educators and administrators would see the merits of your philosophy.  It delivers hope to all involved.” – Karen Sporrer, Instructor, GPS Education Partners – “Navigating Student Success”

“This workshop was AWESOME!  This information is super helpful to my work as a future social worker and to LIFE in general.  Are teachers learning/aware/practicing brain talk to students; if they are not this is a tragedy.  Nice work and thank you for letting me participate, can’t wait to share it with my colleagues, family and friends!”- Meaghan Tine, School of Social Work Intern, Family Life Educator
